How to De-Stress & Re-Energize

Goodmorning!

I’m currently sipping on a cup of joe (I know, not surprising πŸ˜‰ ) and listening to my favorite station, Bonfire Folk, on Pandora. Today, I’m going to share with you some of my favorite de-Stressing tips! I love to include these in my night routine. I will also take a few hours of my day every once in a while to relax and revitalize. Learning how to re-energize can be extremely beneficial to both your mental and physical health. We spend so much time taking care of others, working, and getting through the daily tasks life brings upon us, but we often times do not take time out for ourselves. I’ve discovered that if I don’t take out an hour every once and a while to de-stress and re-energize then I will get burnt out and fall into a gloomy mental state. With all that being said, let’s get into it!

1) Essential Oils are..well… Essential!

My favorite Essential Oil blend is the Chill Pill one from Aura Cacia! This essential oil features lavender and roman chamomile as it’s primary scents. However, the blend also includes peppermint, orange, and basil, to help clear your mind. Β The lavender, chamomile, and patchouli all help you to relax and de-stress. The variety of pre-made blends out there is incredible, there is one for any situation! For example, the next blends I want to try are the Creative Juices, Pillow Potion, and Panic Button. You can also buy individual oils and create your own blend. I am still relatively new to essential oils. Therefore, I have started with either individual scents I love, or pre-made blends

I recently bought a Fitbit. It’s interesting because it uses my heart rate to measure how long I spend in each sleep stage. Interestingly enough, I’m not spending a lot of time in the deep sleep stage. That is why I want to try the Pillow Potion essential oil blend and see how/ if it effects my sleep stages. The Panic Button Β would also be Β good to diffuse or rub on my wrist when I Β have an anxiety attack. I spend a lot of time being anxious, stressed, self-critical, and not flexible with life. That’s why I’ve been trying to find ways in addition to prayer and daily quiet times with God, to keep myself relaxed.

Side Note about Essential Oils

Another interesting thing is that I have this ganglion cyst on my wrist, so I’ve been using Frankincense on it, because it is supposed to help with the inflammation as well as reduce the size of the cyst. So far, it seems to be working, but I won’t truly see results for a few more weeks. These cysts are truly a pain and inconvenience to my yoga routine. However, if I can get it to go away using some of these home remedies I will make a post on it.

I did see my doctor, and she told me to ice it and take ibuprofen. I’m not a huge fan of taking ibuprofen daily especially when this could hang around for months, so I take it periodically if it hurts, but I am using more home remedies to heal it. I’m trying to avoid having to drain it or get it surgically removed, especially when those solutions do not guarantee it won’t come back.

2) Relaxing Music

I really love creating a relaxing atmosphere. I am very much all about experiences. Lighting my favorite candle and putting on some relaxing music is essential. I have a few stations on pandora I would highly recommend.

  1. Bonfire Folk Radio
  2. Noah and the Whale Radio
  3. Yoga Radio
  4. Instrumental Folk Radio
  5. Zen Garden Radio
  6. Acoustic Autumn Radio
  7. Frank Sinatra Radio
  8. Jack Johnson Radio

Let me know your favorite relaxing music in the comments below!

3) A Warm and Cozy Drink!

Next, I highly recommend brewing up your favorite hot drink! I personally really enjoy tea in the evenings! Some of my favorite Teas include:Yogi Ginger Tea, Perfect Peach Tea, and Zen Tea! Not only is the Ginger and Zen tea relaxing they are also great for your digestive system and de-bloating! This is due to spearmint, peppermint, lemon grass, green tea, and ginger! Β If you’re not a tea fan, then make a cup of hot chocolate or warm apple cider. I also love coffee, but it has to be early in the day so I can sleep at night!

4) Snuggle Up with a Good Book!

I am currently obsessed with Uninvited by Lysa Terkeurst! This book feeds your soul by filling it up with God’s truth. It’s all about dealing with rejection, loneliness, and unworthiness. I highly recommend it, as it has been eye opening for me! Another great book I’m reading right now is The Magnolia Story. This is a really cute story about Chip and Joanna Gaines, I’d highly recommend it as well! Once you’ve found the perfect book, hop in your bed and get snuggled up in your duvet and relax! If you’re like me, sometimes just snuggling up on the couch with a soft blanket works just as well!

5) Put on that Face Mask Girl!

Taking care of your skin can be one of the most relaxing and rewarding things to do! I know I tend to neglect my skin when life gets hectic. My favorite go-to masks are this Sea Algae Clay Mask from the K&K line and the Mask of Magnaminty by Β Lush!

Those are my top 5 Tips! Let me know what you love to do in order to relax! I look forward to reading your comments! Remember, you are worth the time to take care of yourself!

xoxo,
